“There is no such thing called ‘Holy War’,” said Flint Islamic Center Member Dr. Jamal Hammoud. “The word jihad has so many meanings in Islam. Jihad means strive, so when you strive against the illness of society, against the illness of your own self, that you strive against the whims of devil, and you’re trying to do something good.”
