French Students Protest Burqa Ban With High Heels, Mini-Shorts

12 October 2010 General 5 Comments Email This Post Email This Post

Two French students have discovered a creative way to protest against the burqa ban in France — walking around the streets of Paris in a niqab, high heels and mini-shorts. (via Telegraph)

In an online video of their Parisian march, two veiled women walk by various government offices. In one scene, a police officer actually asks to take a photo of them.

According to their Twitter feed they are “protesting against the burqa ban.”

An earlier tweet states,”we are not promoting niqab but we are against this discriminating law.” Their original video, with the Beastie Boys, can be viewed on vimeo.

  1. I’m not sure if that’s helpful… but it certainly is eye popping!

  2. Are you serious? I think it doesn’t make any sense. google it yourself

  3. In my opinion the Burqa issue is a red herring that distracts from the real issues of tolerance and the misunderstanding of what the word means. Today it is the Burqa tomorrow it will be?

In a sense the Ummah have brought this upon themselves, WHY is it that after 9/11 I heard DO NOT blame all Muslims for the actions of a few, fair enough. YET when a Pastor in Florida burns a Qur’an the Ummah riot and kill non Muslims, burning bibles? How would they react IF Christians were to go on rampages in Muslims neighborhoods in retaliation for burning Bibles?

So the banning of the Burqa is but the first of steps in reaction to the perception that the Muslim immigrants are but an Islamic Trojan Horse. Being an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, this ban can go from being a negative to a positive with education.

Just my thought, how about some REAL feedback?

  4. First of all I am American, Not an immigrant i was born and raised in Texas,,, I am First and foremost a VERY proud born MUSLIM…. MY parents are muslim and so are my grandparents… And I also wear The NIQAB,,, Of my own choice and before i got married.,,., No 1 forced me to wear I’m not ignorant or retarded, @Benjamin,,, why do you assume that your an immigrant if your muslim or wearing a niqab….I wear my niqab to protect my modesty… The women in this video Are an INSULT to me and every other muslim woman… They are projecting the image of modest whore… which is a contradiction in itself.
Or that we wish we could dress as they do..? yes i do dress in shorts and small clothes…. But in my home.,,., For the eyes of my Husband… Which is the only man who should be looking a me in any sexually suggestive way…Is the only man I should be trying to hook up with……

You =( Men in general ) call most Women Bitches and Hoe’s for a reason, ( Because of their behavior) But when you find a modest woman who covers her body and avoids sin you don’t know what to do w/ yourselves….
I don’t understand why you all see the niab or burka as a threat? is it causing you bodily harm or preventing you all from living your daily lives? No.. Ok so then let us live our lives as we see fit,,,I’m glad we don’t have this law in America and that there are millions of muslims here to protest against that stupid law if it even dares to rear it’s ugly head over this way,…. The French say they are trying to protect Muslim women against Islamic extremism… But let me say for sure,,,, YOU NEED to protect your own women before you start looking at ours….

  5. The very root of your writing whilst appearing reasonable initially, did not really work perfectly with me after some time. Someplace throughout the sentences you actually managed to make me a believer but just for a while. I still have got a problem with your leaps in logic and you might do nicely to help fill in those breaks. When you can accomplish that, I could surely end up being amazed.

Have your say!
