Jehan S. Harney: Kilmeade Apologizes For Saying “All Terrorists Are Muslim.” Is This Enough?

19 October 2010 Huffington Post 3 Comments Email This Post Email This Post

When iconic journalist Helen Thomas said that Jews should leave Palestine and go back to where they came from, she was being forced to retire abruptly after covering eight U.S. presidents. When CNN’s Ric Sanchez said that Jews in America are not an oppressed minority and that they control the media, he was immediately fired. But when Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade says, “all terrorists are Muslim” while defending a worse statement made by Bill O’Reilly that “Muslims killed us on 9/11,” Kilmeade gets to keep his job.

Not only is his statement racist, and offensive but also factually wrong. There are many domestic terrorist groups that are non-Muslim such as the Ku Klux Klan, Aryan Nations, Jewish Defense League, Death Angels, and Black Liberation Army, as well as international terrorist groups such as IRA, PKK, ETA EOKA, and Tamil Tigers, just to name a few.

Kilmeade’s comments offended all Muslims and other Americans too. In his 23 seconds of TV apology he said, “I am sorry IF I offended or hurt anybody’s feelings.” He’s acting as if his comments may not have offended some people, which in and of itself is offensive. It shows he’s really not sincere, but he had to apologize just to save face and keep his job.

This is a telling example of our media double standard, sanctioning bigoted comments about Muslims which perpetuate their negative stereotyping without serious repercussions. What we all heard and saw is the equivalent of anti-semitism. When Kilmeade keeps his job, we are indirectly sanctioning and endorsing his words that reach the biggest national audience in America, even if he apologizes.

There should be a better media scale that treats all people with the same level of respect. If journalists break this ethical stand, then they should be held accountable. This is not necessarily about Muslims, Jews or a specific minority. This is about all of us Americans who deserve to be treated respectfully in our society. Sending the wrong message through the media about certain people only allows society to further mistreat them without any level of accountability on either side. Such behavior is unAmerican and this a serious media ethics issue that has to be addressed.

  1. CAN MUSLIMS BE GOOD AMERICANS?

This is very interesting and we all need to read it from start to finish
And send it on to everyone. Maybe this is why our American Muslims are
So quiet and not speaking out about any atrocities. Can a good Muslim be
    A good American?

This question was forwarded to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.
    The following is his reply:

Theologically – no. . . .. Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon God of Arabia .

Religiously – no.. . . Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah – Except Islam (Quran, 2:256)(Koran)

Scripturally – no. . . Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran.

Geographically – no . Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially – no. . . Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

Politically – no…. . . Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual Leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, The great Satan.

Domestically – no. .. . Because he is instructed to marry four Women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34 )

Intellectually – no. . Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically – no. . . . Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran does not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot Co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually – no.. . . Because when we declare ‘one nation under God,’ The Christian’s God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to As Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran’s 99 Excellent names.

Therefore, after much study and deliberation…. Perhaps we should be Very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. – – – They obviously cannot be both ‘good’ Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish it’s still the truth. You had better believe it. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future.

The religious war is bigger than we know or understand. ….

Footnote: The Muslims have said they will destroy us from within.

  2. CAN CHRISTIANS BE GOOD AMERICANS?

This is very interesting and we all need to read it from start to finish
And send it on to everyone. Maybe this is why some of our American Christians are trying to get us all riled up about Muslims, so we won’t recognize what a threat these Christians are to our sacred American way of life. Can a good Christian be a good American?

This question was forwarded to a friend who never worked one day of his life on anything but American soil, so I think he can be trusted.
    The following is his reply:

Theologically – no. . . .. Because the Christian’s allegiance is to his God Yahweh, not to our flag.

Religiously – no.. . . Because no other religion is accepted by his Yahweh and the good Christian must put to death anyone in his community who is found to worship another God (Deuteronomy 17:2-7)

Scripturally – no. . . Because he must follow the Ten Commandments and the Bible rather than the Constitution and the laws of our land.

Geographically – no . Because he can have no earthly allegiance since he follows Jesus who said His Kingdom is not of this earth.

Socially – no. . . Because he must kill anyone who eats shellfish, and /or wears more than two kinds of textiles at once. Whereas such killings are considered very rude according to the American custom of wearing polyester/cotton blend shirts to Red Lobster for the All You Can Eat Special.

Politically – no…. . . Since his loyalty is to the Kingdom of God he is not only anti- American but anti-Democracy. In fact Christian scripture says to render unto the king that which is the king’s. If the Founding Fathers had been good Christians they never would have taken away from Britain’s King George the thirteen colonies which were lawfully his.

Domestically – no. .. . Because he discriminates against the blind and the lame, (Leviticus 21:17-18) which violates the American’s With Disabilities Act and our general sense of decency and fairness.,
Intellectually – no. . Because the first rule of Reason is non-contradiction, but the Bible says:

“Whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father.” [Matt. x, 33.] but also says “Whosoever shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness.” [Mark iii, 29.]

and “For I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger forever.” (Jeremiah 3:12) but also says “Ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn forever.” (Jeremiah 17:4)

and “If I testify about myself, my testimony is not valid.” (John 5:31)
but also says Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid.” (John 8:14)

and “the whole world is under control of the evil one.” (1 John 5:19) but also says “And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth.” (Matthew 28:18)

and “For judgement I am come into this world.” (John 9:39) but also says
“I came not to judge the world” (John 12:47)

and “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16) but also says “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:1)

and “Jacob said, ‘I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.'” (Genesis 32:30) but also says “No man hath seen God at any time.” (John 1:18)

and “We should fear God” (Matthew 10:28) but also
”We should love God” (Matthew 22:37) but also
”There is no fear in love” (1 John 4:18)

So Bible study is pretty much indoctrination in ignoring intellectual contradiction, which–to use the technical term–is a stupid thing to do.

Philosophically – no. . . . Because the Bible (Deuteronomy 13:12-15) does not allow freedom of religion. In fact it says that if you learn of a city which worships a different God (E.g. Salt Lake City; Vegas; Green Bay Wisconsin)you must kill every man, woman, child and animal in it. This is going to totally cheese off the SPCA, for starters. And Christianity does not allow freedom of expression. Hell, cursing alone is enough to get you the death penalty. (Leviticus 24:14-16 ) OMG! In fact Christianity forbids even calling anyone a fool: “But anyone who says ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.” (Jesus) Matt 5:22
But then againthe Bible also says: “You fools!” (Jesus) Luke 11:40 “You blind fools!” (Jesus) Matt 23:17 “How foolish you are” (Jesus) Luke 24:25 “But God said to him, ‘You fool!’ ” (Jesus) Luke 12:20 “You foolish Galatians!” (St. Paul) Galatians 3:1 “You foolish man” James 2:20 … So maybe they will let that particular freedom of expression slide.

.Spiritually – no.. . . Because when we declare ‘one nation under God,’ the God we refer to is loving and merciful. As opposed that Christian God who says stuff like: “Leave alive nothing that breathes. Show them no mercy.” [Deut. 7:2] “The Lord hardened their hearts… that they might receive no mercy.” [Joshua 11:20] “I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the Lord: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them. A curse on him who is lax in doing the Lord’s work! A curse on him who keeps his sword from bloodshed.” [Jer. 13:14; 48:10]
    And:
“I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children.” (Leviticus 26:22) “Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourself every girl who has never slept with a man.” (Numbers 31:17-18) “The Lord commands: “… slay old men outright, young men and maidens, little children and women” (Ezechial 9:4-6) “When the Lord delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the males …. As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves.” (Deuteronomy 20:13-14) “You will eat the fruit of the womb, the flesh of the sons and daughters the Lord your God has given you.” (Deuteronomy 28:53) “The Lord said to Joshua […] ‘you are to hamstring their horses.’ ” (Exceedingly cruel.) (Joshua 11:6) “… Go and smite the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead with the edge of the sword and; also the women and little ones…. every male and every woman that has lain with a male you shall utterly destroy.” (Judges 21:10-12) “This is what the Lord says: Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass …. And Saul … utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.” (1 Samuel 15:3,7-8) “The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their women with child ripped open.” (Hosea 13:16) “A curse on him who is lax in doing the LORD’s work! A curse on him who keeps his sword from bloodshed!” (Jeremiah 48:10)

Vehicularly – no. Christians are forbidden to make or have graven images, which rules out photo driver’s licenses. Or even passports. Or even TSA photo-databases of terrorists. Or Arizona Citizenship Papers. How are we gonna keep the darned Muslims out without graven images to identify them with?

Therefore, after much study and deliberation…. Perhaps we should Be Very Suspicious of ALL CHRISTIANS in this country. – – – They obviously cannot be both ‘good’ Christians and good Americans. Call it what you wish it’s still the truth. You had better believe it. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future.

  3. Hi Robert,

Just out of curiosity, what’s it like being totally nuts?
