New York rally condemns King hearings
Proclaiming “Today I am a Muslim too,” about 1,000 protesters gathered Sunday in Times Square to decry Rep. Pete King’s upcoming hearings into homegrown radical Islam.
“Today, they’re targeting Muslims. Tomorrow, it will be Jews. Tomorrow, they’ll close a synagogue,” said Abu Abdullah, 57, a perfumer from Bay Shore, L.I., who stood in the rain at the interfaith rally. “Peter King is trying to divide us – to make it like shark eat shark,” he said of the Long Island Republican, who heads the House Homeland Security Committee. “It shouldn’t be that way.”
Christians, Jews and Muslims branded the hearings a witch hunt, waved signs and chanted, “Shame, shame Pete King!”
Celebrities from boxing legend Mike Tyson to reality show darling Kim Kardashian added their support online. ”We are bigger than Charlie Sheen – we are the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter,” hip-hop icon Russell Simmons told the rain-drenched crowd.
Magdy Salama, 50, a limo company owner from Astoria, Queens, who held a small American flag on a stick, said he worried his three Muslim kids will grow up facing religious bigotry. “We’re a free country. There should be freedom of religion,” Salama said.

Yes, ignorant “Christians, Jews and Muslims”. Well-informed “Christians, Jews and Muslims” (and other people) KNOW that these hearings are vital in addressing a very serious, escalating threat.
There are only TWO types of people who oppose the hearings:
1) Those who are sadly misinformed about the very serious issues and have no clue what is going on
2) Those who are very much in-the-know and don’t want YOU to know what they know.

Celebrities should read a couple-hundred books including the Qu’ran, Hadith and Sira… and interview a couple-hundred former-Muslims about the current teachings in Western mosques… BEFORE they go sounding off.

Oh please! NOBODY (except a small handful of bigot idiots) is opposed to freedom-of-religion. The MAJORITY of Americans is very much in favor of religious freedom for all.
MOST people are NOT against the right to religious expression.
MOST people are NOT against the right to pray.
MOST people are NOT against the right to have houses-of-worship.
MOST people are NOT against the right to openly declare and practice one’s faith.
HOWEVER:
MOST people are against the practice of ANY faith which encroaches upon the freedoms and rights of people outside of that faith.
MOST people are against a ONE-WAY STREET type of so-called “religious acceptance” or a ONE-WAY so-called “interfaith dialogue”.
MOST people are against having to walk-on-eggshells as not to offend the delicate sensibilities of a particular faith, while receiving no respect for their own faiths.
MOST people are against the escalating Jihad… both the violent and the non-violent types.
MOST people are against the Islamic Supremacy agenda… its objectives, plans and goals for this country… its very real… and its VERIFIABLE progress and advancements thus far.
MOST people are against an ideological, theocratic, totalitarian doctrine which has NO respect for human rights; especially for rights of women, gays and non-muslims.
MOST people, including MOST Muslims, are against terrorist attacks which are escalating around the globe… and most of which are being perpetrated BY Muslims AGAINST both Muslims AND non-Muslims.
