Bigoted Pastor Alert: Rev. Keith Tucci Thinks All Terrorists are Muslim

(Pittsburgh Tribune-Review)

The Rev. Keith Tucci preaches from a pulpit more than an hour from Carnegie, but he’s concerned about a different religious community’s plans to relocate there.

Tucci, pastor of the Living Hope Church in Latrobe, said he has “serious concerns” about members of a Muslim mosque who want to move to a former Presbyterian church in the heart of Carnegie’s business district. Tucci said he and members of his congregation will travel to Carnegie on Monday to pass out “informational packets” about the Muslim faith.

“I have questions: Who are these people? Are they American citizens? Has anyone done a background check on them?” said Tucci, whose church is part of a national network of Bible-based churches with headquarters in Reserve, La., according to its website. “I’m not saying all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims. We need more information about these people before they are allowed to move in and ruin a community.”

Carnegie Councilman Rick D’Loss, president of the borough’s synagogue, Congregation Ahavath Achim, said some residents asked questions about the plan for the building but generally expressed support.

“In a town of 8,000 people, of course you’ll have some dissenting opinions, but Carnegie is a very inclusive place,” D’Loss said. “Muslims have rights just like anyone else, and they can pray as they choose. It’s a shame that we have to keep telling people that. I find it funny that a group is going to drive all the way from Westmoreland to tell us we shouldn’t allow the Muslims to be in our community.

“If we say no Muslims, then we have to say no Jews, too. Then what?”

The borough council on June 14 approved the Attawheed Islamic Center’s request to convert the 19,000-square-foot stone and brick building along East Main Street into a place for prayer and religious education. No residents expressed opposition at a public hearing about the mosque or during the council meeting that followed. The Muslim group rents space on Banksville Road.

Even with council approval, it’s unclear when the group would move into the building, which needs extensive repairs, including a roof. Al-Walid Mohsen, vice president and manager of the Attawheed Islamic Center, did not return calls for comment.

Police Chief Jeff Harbin, who is the part-time borough manager, said the Living Hope Church group has a right to come to Carnegie and pass out information and talk about concerns, as long as they do so peacefully.

“I grew up in Carnegie, and we tend to welcome everyone,” Harbin said. “We believe in the right of people to express their opinions, and we respect the First Amendment. People are free to disagree.”

  1. “I’m not saying all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims.”

    That’s quite amusing

  2. i thought it’s been established that hispanics are the greatest, well largest number of terrorists. not too great at it though, they don’t manage to kill too many people.

“I’m not saying all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims.” sounds familiar. is this the same moron or is he repeating someone else?

  3. I do not agree with the way this pastor thinks but I have a question. When a leader of a Islamic Mosque expresses Anti-American views or Anti-Jewish views, do you ever run a headline Bigoted Iman claims thinks Jews are _____? I mean has any Muslim dominated publication ever called any Islamic leader bigoted or racist?

  4. Hypocrite, thy name is Tucci. This dude was right up there with Randall Terry running Operation Rescue. Google their antics over the years.

  5. David Koresh and Tim McVeigh were “christians” so I guess that blows their theory right out of the water~

  6. criley:

Here’s the difference — the wise amongst us knows that what this ignorant & bigoted pastor says is as un-Christian as can be and we don’t blame/fault all Christians or Christianity for this type of backwards/backwoods thinking.

That same mindset should likewise be applied if a person commits acts and/or makes statements that are un-Islamic. But we ONLY see a person’s/group’s alleged faith dragged through the muck & mire if that person or group are Muslims, though their ill-words and/or misdeeds don’t match the practices of said faith.

  7. It’s pretty sad him a pastor who’s ignorance stop him from reading other information about terrorist.Did he ever realized and know of Tim Macvey who blow up a Federal bldg. that killed hundreds of innocent people he is not a Muslim but an American. It’s a shame wearing the cloak of God but judges people of their beliefs…..

  8. I had no idea that the members of these groups were Muslim!

    1. Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (Basque Fatherland and Liberty) (ETA) (Spain, France)

    2. Kahane Chai aka Kach (Israel)

    3. Aum Shinrikyo (Japan), Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) (Sri Lanka)

    4. Continuity Irish Republican Army (CIRA) (Northern Ireland)

    5. Real IRA (Northern Ireland)

    6. Revolutionary Organization 17 November (Greece)

    7. Revolutionary Struggle (Greece)

    8. National Liberation Army (ELN) (Colombia)

    9. Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) (Colombia)

    10. United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC) (Colombia),

    11. Shining Path (Sendero Luminoso, SL) (Peru)

  9. qasim,

    http://www.fbi.gov/stats-services/publications/terrorism-2002-2005/terror02_05#terror_05sum

yes this website has had several articles establiting that only 6% of terrorist (in america) are muslims. although farc the shining path and the tamil tigers all put al-qaeda’s 3000 to shame. the problem is the (american)death toll.
    IN AMERICA
    non-islamic terrorist deaths 194, injuries 900
islamic terrorist deaths 2,981 injuries 13,000est hard to be percise on 9/11
the 6% of terrorist account for 93.8% of all deaths and 93.5% of injuries.

  10. Allen,
David Koresh thought he was the son of god: he was not a Christian he was just crazy. As far as Mcveigh goes I find it difficult to believe he was actually a practicing Christian, but even if he was he did not blow up the building in the name of god.

  11. mike:

That same article that you’ve quoted as showing that 6% of the terrorist attacks that occurred on U.S. soil were linked to Muslims also showed that 7% of those occurring on U.S. soil were linked to Jews. Of course, that only accounts for 13%, so there were larger groups of terrorists. That article is available here.

But some Islamaphobes often site the terrorist actions that occur in Europe. There is yet another shocking article which further blows away the Islamaphobe-hatched myth that most terrorist actions are committed by Muslims/based on Islam.

    criley:

Much evil has been committed under the guise “in the name of god/God“. That doesn’t mean that the religion condones their misdeeds because of the words that those people used to shield their misdeeds.

  12. dueceprez,

i agree with the %s. sorry i left the jews out, i just went with the largest group. i agree that the islamaphobe’s statement is moronic. my point is that peolpe worry a little more about terrorist when they actually kill people. also you have to know about it. it’s not nation wide news when a member of elf breaks into an animal lab and liberates the bunnies. it’s like if some one is killed in a car accident in oregon, i don’t hear about it in florida. but if a plane crashes and 200 people die, i do hear about it. the vast majority of terror attacks are car crashs. 9/11 was a plane crash, both metaphorically and literaly. in fact you hear about it if a plane has a close call but not if a car skids of the road. the times square attempt, the jfk and christmas tree lighting plots, are like a 747 skidding of the runway. so did you check my math on the death tolls? do you not see why people are currently more afraid of islamic terrorism. if a jewish group sets off a nuke in vegas and kills 100,000, we would certainly be looking at jews. after the okc bombing we turned our attention to right-wing groups. i am still confounded that muslims are suprised that the fbi is lurking around mosques.

as for the european terrorist statistics. first it is only a 3 year sampling. and i would make the same point on death toll and news worthyness. the london and madrid bombings resonate more in the american psyche than an eta car bomb, that they usually call in a warning (which also confuses me, i guess they are saying we could have killed you, so give us basque). anyways, your article reminds me of an earlier article here (sorry don’t know how to link, maybe you can help me out) where the author compared 9 or 10 years in the 70’s with post 9/11 terrorist activity. yeah if you leave 9/11 out the islamic terrorist haven’t done much. he also listed notable terror attacks and left the 93 wtc bombing of his list. was that the same article that quoted our top counter terrorism guy as saying elf is the greatest threat in march of 2001. no wonder we missed 9/11. despite ubl declaring war on america in 97, the attacks on the cole, khobar towers, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Nairobi, Kenya. doesn’t instill me with a whole lot of confidence in our intelligence community.

now that i think about it, aren’t embassies considered american soil. shouldn’t they be considered domestic attacks?

you say, “because of the words that those people used to shield their misdeeds”. now you’ve hit the nail on the head. when someone can take the meaning of a “holy book” as to say you should blow yourself up to kill others, it scares the bejesus out of people. it’s like when the japanese imployed the “divine wind” weapon. which brings up another point, well i’ll wait for your response….

    take it easy

  13. Mike,

The USA army invaded Iraq and Afghanistan with no reason at all, neither of these two countries attacked the USA land at all, yet in the process the USA government killed around two million Iraqis and Afghanistanis. not to mention the atrocities inflicted on innocent Pakistani civilians by the USA army. The USA is the no. 1 seller of weapons of mass destruction and it is the only country in the world that has a record of mass murder. China,India, and Russia are busy growing their economy and China is enjoying a $2 trillion in foreign currency while the USA is in a $14 trillion debt, why? because they are spending tax payers money killing people around the world. We will not go back in history and remind you of what white man Christian did to the natives of America and Australia, nor are we going to remind you of enslaving Africans by Christian white man,you are already aware of that.Bottom line two countries threaten world peace: America and Israel.

  14. Pastor Tucci speakers the truth. I pray that you stop pushing your agenda of anti-Judea-Christian hate and start to follow Jesus. Following The Lord is paramount!
