Nazi graffiti on mosque in south-west France

Nazi graffiti on mosque in south-west France

On Monday night a swastika and Nazi symbols were sprayed the mosque of the El Mouhsinine Muslim association in Tarascon-sur-Ariège. Police have launched an investigation. Local councillors visited the site to express their support for the association, and the mayor has called for a firm stand to be taken against racism and xenophobia.

Via Islam in Europe

  1. The nazi swastika is drawn differently, that looks like an asian swastika or an early greek one.

  2. Although you are technically right, James, if you look on the door, underneath the swastika, you will see what appears to be the SS symbol. Thus, the context makes it a Nazi swastika. Your observation, however, misses the bigger question: why and who would vandalize a mosque?

  3. The Waffen SS had muslim divisions and Hitler was an admirer of islam.

Still, bit silly to spray stuff on a door
