Boykin: Go To Dearborn, Michigan and ‘You Would Think You Were in Beirut or Damascus’

Right Wing Watch

Over the weekend, Jerry Boykin was interviewed on a radio program out of Bakersfield, California ahead of a scheduled appearance at a local church early next week where he will undoubtedly promote his anti-Islam conspiracy theories.

During the interview, Boykin warned that every serious Muslim was determined to enshrine Sharia wherever they lived and that they were making great progress in establishing it in America.  This prompted one of the co-hosts to ask Boykin about Dearborn, Michigan which he claimed was “almost one hundred percent Muslim and operating under Sharia law now,” a statement with which Boykin agreed, adding that “if you walk down the streets, you would think you were in Beirut or Damascus”:

  1. In Dearborn, you can be arrested just for being Christian.

  2. Dearborn police better figure out that arab festival business or there will be hell to pay.

  3. I wonder if a group of people holding sign in the middle of “China town” (which ever one), and the signs had demeaning messages, or attacked Buddhism, Taoism, or any other philosophy which Chinese people may hold, I wounder what the reaction would be. Add insults and other provocative speech to the mix in an atmosphere that is suppose to be a time of enjoyment. I’m sure the end result would be the same. Yes. the Dearborn police do need to figure it out. But so does THAT group of “Christians.” There were other groups out there that did not get hit with plastic bottles (stoning? really?) because they were not looking for a confrontation, they were looking for a convert. This group in the video has been condemned by other Christian groups for their tactics.

As far as the comment, “if you walk down the streets, you would think you were in Beirut or Damascus”

And?! There are parts of NYC, LA, San Fran, and many other major cities that have districts that are of one ethnicity, like China Town, or Little Haiti. Welcome to America dude.

“almost one hundred percent Muslim and operating under Sharia law now,”

Where is the proof of that? Give an example. A city can not make laws that amend constitutional rights. It can make ordinances (which can not infringe on constitutional rights). So let’s have an example of one.

  4. You are right about ethnic enclaves. i took a turn in Georgia and wound up in a totally Korean place. None of those other places have a culture and scripture that support killing those not of the tribe.

  5. you sure? because i bet some of those Koreans were Christian. how many times did the people of God destroy entire cities in the Bible?

But a Christian will tell you that those passages don’t apply to the present day. Similarly when the Koran says to kill non-believers, it just so happens that such statements were made in the context of a battle between muslims and non-muslims. Should a general in World War II say, “kill the Germans”, should that be interpreted to mean that, forever on, Americans are obliged to hunt down people of German decent and kill them? No. The phraase “kill the Germans” was appropriate for that situation. Do some Muslims abuse such passages as justification for murder? Yes. But that doesn’t mean that that is the true meaning of the passage. How often has the constitution been purposefully misinterpreted so that an individual could gain an advantage?

Seeing Muslim immigrants as plotting to make America an new Saudi Arabia is like fearing that the ants in your house will turn your entire house into a giant ant colony
In case you haven’t noticed, the vast majority of Muslims in America are perfectly fine living in America, working with christians, jews, atheists, etc. they have jobs, attend schools, etc, and with the exception of the occasional lunatic (who, statistically, is most likely American raised and gained a false sense of what it means to be Muslim through labeling in an anti-Muslim media), they seem to pretty content

  6. Hmm. You must never have been to South Central. Tribe. Is that what Islam is now? But you are right. There are no Jewish Korean enclaves. As far as culture of killing, please don’t be so self-righteous. Christianity has a long “culture” and history of violence, just as much as Islam. And I’d argue more so. But if it is so much a part of our “culture” explain places like Andalusia where Muslims (who were in charge), Jews, and Christians all lived peacefully together. Jewish scholarship even flourish. Explain the benevolent treatment when Jerusalem was captured, and also recaptured by Umar ibn Khattib and Salaah Deen? Compare that to the capture of Jerusalem by the Christians.

Yes. The Muslim World is in a state of mess right now. I got it. There are a lot of terrible things being done by ppl who call themselves Muslim. But don’t act like Christianity did not go through the exact same phase in it’s history. Need something a little more recent. How about the killing and lynching of Blacks all the way up til the 70’s (and even into the 2000’s). Tactics of the KKK which had a membership of 5 million in 1925 (less then 100 years ago) and was seen as normal for a White man of that era.

  7. Sounds good if Allah wills I hope more places el look the same way

  8. Please quit running back to the glorious past and address the problems of the mucky present.

It’s not that bad things don’t happen everywhere. It is the doing of bad things with impunity. The police turn the other way or even support the murder and oppression of Christians and other minorities.

  9. Okay, lets take more recent Christian extremist that killed. like that nut job in Norway. That was definitely committed with impunity.

“The police turn the other way or even support the murder and oppression of Christians and other minorities.”

Really? They said that? I must have missed that part of the youtube video. You really weaken your arguments when you go that outlandish in your claims.

  10. The Norway nut job was arrested and is on his way to prison/nuthouse. In Egypt and other muslim places you can do a lot of nasty things to minorities and never see inside of jail.

  11. In Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood government supports the bombing of churches.

  12. @ anon the article you list starts off talking about how the Taliban opens fire on other Muslims. So, lets thinks about this for a second. It the taliban are Muslim, and they kill other Muslims, and they kill other innocent people of other religions. Maybe this has nothing to do with Islam. Maybe it’s just a twisted bunch of ________ (fill in the blank) that are using religion as an excuse, but not really following what that religion actually says. Wait, I’ve seen this before. USA, KKK bombs Black (minority) Churches, and kills Blacks and Whites who sympathize with Blacks. All the will government (local and federal) looked the other way.

    @rocky
“In Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood government supports the bombing of churches.”

Really!? The government that just got elected two days ago? The government whose president just announced that he would post a Christian VP? See what I’m talking about anon when I say when you make absurd claims it weakens your arguments? So when did the MB say they supported bombing churches? Please tell me you are not going to dig up something from years ago.

anon Back to your point. Look, I’ve already said man does some bad things to his fellow man. And I don’t condone or agree with it. When you are talking about religion, though, you have to show me examples in its texts that support your argument. I’m not here to defend what the Egyptian, Saudi, Pakistani, Afghani, or any other government or its citizens do. I am here to talk about and defend the religion of Islam. Are there bad Muslims? Yes. Are there bad Christians? Yes. Bad comes in all shapes sizes and creeds. But what does the religion say and teach?

  13. What the religion teaches, or the Koran says, may be quite irrelevant to the situation. I am only concerned about the escalating violence and craziness in the muslim countries.

Theocracy based on any religion is bound to create horrible unfair gov. It is up to the muslims to work out their problems, I think there is going to be extreme conflict and misery for years, resulting in masses of refugees and deaths.

  14. I am concerned about the same things. It’s the Muslims that are the highest casualty/injury rates with all this sectarian and extremist violence.

  15. Rashiyd Abu Ali,

i quess you missed the last time i posted this youtube video. police standing around.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCCyK87hH9M

“5 million in 1925 (less then 100 years ago) and was seen as normal for a White man of that era.” well we can’t agree on the definition of equal, but i’ll give normal a shot. i personally wouldn’t say that less than 5% of the population, the US pop being 115 milllion in ’25, as normal. but if you want to. then wouldn’t the 6% of terrorist that are muslims be considered normal for a white man, sorry i mean for a muslim????????

“I am here to talk about and defend the religion of Islam…..But what does the religion say and teach?” alright, cool. down to the nitty gritty. no deflection, no the christians are worst then us, etc.

so what does your religion teach about: apostates, blasphemy, adultry, fornication, drinking. well let’s just narrow it to what ever one you choose to answer.

“Really? They said that? I must have missed that part of the youtube video. You really weaken your arguments when you go that outlandish in your claims.” i agree anon does that alot. not sure what she is thinking sometimes. but i think she might be an evangelical christian.

  16. “But if it is so much a part of our “culture” explain places like Andalusia where Muslims (who were in charge), Jews, and Christians all lived peacefully together.” guess you never heard of the day that the muslims killed 3000 jews. how about the irony of that number. so the muslims peacefully took the iberian peninsula. how long did the muslims rule?

  17. Mike,

Those Umayyid swine ruled for 781 years.

  18. They never took all of Spain, the inhabitants started fighting back immediately and finally took back all except Granada. See Reston, Dogs of God.

  19. dongo,

come on now. you know that muslims were barely in control of granada for like 259 years. the visagoths where pushing back in like 733?

“Those Umayyid swine ruled for 781 years.” no not even close. but it doesn’t really matter.

  20. Mike,

I did not say they ruled the whole Iberian peninsula for 781 years. They did conquer large parts of that region probably in 711 and ultimately were kicked out in 1492. So, does it stand for 781 or something less?

  21. These swine may be partly forgiven for building the Alhambra.

  22. Anon,

Please forgive me if I am sounding unpleasant to you. You say the Umayyids may be forgiven partly for building the Alhambra. That is your magnanimity. But I suggest they should be condemned first for taking others’ lands, i.e. the Umayyid conquest of Iberian peninsula. Second, every bad thing does have some good features. Poet John Milton saw the Devil’s insolence as a sign of devil’s self esteem as he did not agree to bow down to Adam (PBUH). Thirdly, Umayyids created the Shia-Sunni rift. In fact, all Muslim dynasties should be condemned for indulging in lavishness and their greed.

Have your say!
