$1,000 reward offered for info on swastika sprayed on Islamic Center

ROCKAWAY — Morris County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of whoever sprayed a swastika on the Islamic Center of Morris County. The symbol was sprayed on a glass door outside the building sometime between June 21 and 23, said Dr. Aref Assef, one of the center’s directors.




NJ man pleads guilty in hate crime assault

A reputed member of a white supremacist group has pleaded guilty to hate crime charges in the beating of 2 Middle Eastern men in New Jersey. U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman says 28-year-old Michal Gunar pleaded guilty Tuesday to hate crime conspiracy and assault charges. He faces up to 15 years in prison when he’s sentenced.
