“The Muslims are coming!” That is the tongue-in-cheek name of a new documentary by Muslim comedians. But it is also the deadly serious shriek echoing through the American right in response to the launch of Al Jazeera America.

The response to the Norway attacks shows that the world “terrorism” has no meaning — aside from when it’s used to bash Muslims. Numerous news outlets and commentators initially blamed the attack on Islamic militants. Rupert Murdoch’s British newspaper, The Sun, ran a front-page headline titled “‘Al-Qaeda’ Massacre: Norway’s 9/11.”

Just because Norway’s confessed murderer is a blond, blue-eyed, Norwegian-born, anti-Muslim crusader doesn’t mean he’s not a swarthy, ululating madman.

The controversial 47-year-old radio and television host “intends to transition off of his daily program,” called “Glenn Beck,” later this year, Fox News and Beck’s production company, Mercury Radio Arts, said in a joint statement on Wednesday.

Capitalism is all about making money– and for this company, profits have been made at the expense of labor rights. Foxconn has had twelve worker suicides this year, and they’ve installed safety nets–yes nets–on their buildings to catch those workers who just can’t take it anymore. The company has even increased wages.
